Kitchen layouts the contractor prices

A kitchen is easier to describe with a picture than a paragraph. These are the layouts and the materials the contractor works in. The pictures are examples of each layout, not finished local jobs. Point at the one closest to what you want and the contractor will price it.

What a galley looks like opened up

Example: full replace

The bulkhead soffit comes out, the uppers run to the ceiling and the wall to the family room opens up. Cabinets, counters, flooring and lighting all new. The new circuits mean an electrical permit.

Refaced, not replaced

Example: refresh

When the boxes are sound they stay. New shaker fronts, new hardware, new quartz and a tiled backsplash. This is the scope behind the best return on the cost page.

A pass through instead of a wall

Example: small kitchen

In an attached home, taking the wall out often costs more storage than it is worth. Widening the opening instead and putting a counter on the sill buys the light without losing the cabinets. HOA plans and the insurance certificate get handled before the start date.

Full slab backsplash

Example: countertops

The same material carried from the counter up the wall behind the range, with a mitered edge on the island. Templating happens after the cabinets are set, always.

Not sure which of these is your kitchen?

Photos flatten a room. If you are weighing up whether to open a wall or leave it, the fastest way through is to walk your own kitchen with someone who has done it before. That is what the estimate visit is for, and it costs you nothing.
